Back in the days when I was a database admin specializing in Azure, I had slight feelings of confidence; I had worked with SQL Server and Azure, and would easily perform tasks on databases in production environments, but I didn’t have that same confidence with a Microsoft certification, as Microsoft uses the test to measure your ability to think like a real DBAs in real-world scenarios, rather than just memorizing features of the product. My goal was to attain the Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate accreditation by April 2, 2026, which was active at the time of writing this post, had a test code of DP-300 and is listed as a future update on the certification webpage with an English release on April 24, 2026, it was not slated for retirement. This certification is targeted at individuals who work with Azure SQL Database services, SQL Server installed on Azure VMs, and individuals who use hybrid compute solutions involving both SQL Server and SQL Azure.
